High Court judge rules hearing can challenge Ashton Vale stadium decision

Bristol City have been dealt another blow to their hopes of building a new 30,000-seater stadium at Ashton Vale.
A High Court judge has ruled that campaigners who challenged Bristol City Council's decision not to declare the entire site as town green will be allowed to challenge that decision in a full hearing.
That hearing is expected to take place in May or June this year.
The original applicant who had challenged the council's decision withdrew his support earlier this year, and the council and the landowner had hoped this would spell the end of the legal challenge. But those hopes have been dashed and now the council will have to defend its decision at a hearing which will take place in Birmingham, Cardiff or London.
